i need help on bicycle rims infromation and design?
question:
1. this is for the rear rims , do the rear rims comes in different size?
2. i just found out do the rims comes in different thickness and why?
3. what is the thickness standard of all rims.
4.i do know that all adults bike rims come in: 24", 26",27",28", 650c and 700c is this right?
5.i do know that all kids bike rims come in: 16", 20" and 24" is this right?
6. what 650c and 700c mean, can you explain what is the number and letter "c" means and what is the thickness or size of this rims?
7. what do i need to design the rear rims and is there any differences between the rear and the front rims?
8. what do you per fur for hub, the quick release or nut and bolt companion for the hub, please explain?
9.what is the best material to use for the rims, Magnesium Alloy or Aluminum-Alloy and why?
10. do you know what any other material to us for the rims, that in straight, light weight, durable, etc.. and why?
11.if you plan to redesign the hub, how will you do it and why?

Are you talking about rims or wheels? Rims are just the hoops. The hub is the part that rotates.
Mountain bike rims usually come in 24″, 26″ and 29″. 24″ are usually for the rear on dirt jump bikes that offer great acceleration. 26″ is pretty much the standard, and 29″ is for larger guys or a niche market, but some guys really love them.
Road bikes use the metric system, and usually are 650c or 700c.
Depending on the application you would choose a different wide rim. For wider tires, you would use probably a wider rim.
About hubs, theyre’s a lot of different types. QR (quick releases) are mostly a most for mountain bikes, because it’s easier and faster to change a tire, and I think that also goes for road bikes. Probably on cruisers or town bikes that’s not as important, but you’re expected to leave the bike unatended sometimes and would like to see your wheels afterward.
On mountain bikes, there are usually two types of rims, tubed and tubeless.
