One is used for taping the joint in duct work and other is used for taping the joint on ducks. Animal rights people – you may now protest duck tape.
You could try Continental Ultra Gatorskins. They are fast, hard wearing and pretty damn near puncture proof. I've used them for years and would recommend them to everyone.
An alternative would be the sport contact. I've never used them but all Conti tyres are top quality.
EDIT – 26" is the wheel diameter, 1.95" is the width. 54-559 is the etrto equivalent size in millimetres.
EDIT 2 – The closest match is the Sports Contact 26×1.6, which is a bit narrower but as it is an MTB specific tyre it should still fit. Being narrower it will also be a little faster too.
Der Motorrad ist schön..
Ein ganz gut Schwalbe…
I recommend Sherwoods or the Bombay Bicycle Club for nitelife.

The most important things for you will be a sturdy set of wheels and a strong seatpost. I'd recommend a steel frame.
You'll have to pay extra for some wheels, and that will be expensive, but you have to realize that even most "good" wheels won't handle your weight well (or at all) unless you ride easy on pretty smooth surfaces. Look for a wide downhill rim with 36 or 48 spokes. You want a rim that's at least 32mm wide. The Azonic Outlaw wheelset is great and affordable at about $250. You could get a set of Halo Combat wheels for a little less. Any bike shop can order these for you from the distributors. The Bontrager Big Earl wheels are also stout, and any Trek dealer can get them. Wide tires with higher pressure are the best idea. 2.25" at least, bigger if your frame will handle them. You can get wide tires in a smooth street tread or any number of knobby trail treads.
You might want to get a saddle with steel rails instead of mag or ti, just so it'll be less likely to bend if you have your weight on the back when you hit a big bump.
The other parts of the bike will be just fine and if you keep at it you'll be getting lighter from week to week anyway, so any worries about weak parts will become less of a concern.
Another idea if you can't find or afford a bike that will hold up, would be to take up swimming or walking for awhile until you drop 100 pounds or so. By that time most bikes will hold up much better for you.
Good on you for getting started! Bikes r good 4 u….!

It is glue, also known as a PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive).
I would presume that since it is an old bike, you are still running on the old steel rims, unless these have been replaced by alloy wheels at some point. If not, consider replacing.
Lets go back to the basics here…if you have got just an hour of free time, try the following…
*Remove BOTH wheels (best to do both at once)
*Remove tyres, tubes and rim tapes.
*Now. With the wheel standing upright, press down upon the top of the rim. Is there any give or flexing of the wheel?
Maybe the spokes need a little tightening
*Holding the wheel by the the spindle ends, rotate the wheel slowly and check to see if any of the spoke ends are sitting proud of the nipples.
If so, file these down so that they are flush with the nipple head.
*If the rim tapes are old, replace them.
*Fit tyres with a radial tread pattern. Put one side of the tyre on the rim first, partly inflate the tube (just enough to make it round), put the valve in the stem hole and fit the rest of the tube into the tyre.
*Press the tyre onto the rim, if you can do this without levers, that is preferrable.Rotating the wheel slowly, check to see that the tyre bead line sits evenly all around the rim.
* Re-fit and inflate tyres to the maximum permitted pressure. Contrary to what Winginit says, too little pressure can cause pinch punctures. Always better to run maxed-up if you are on the road.
One trick I used to use years ago was to cut up an old tyre (cut off the beads up to just below the tread) and insert this inside the new tyre before fitting a new tube.
My present bike (a 12 year old Ridge Back 506NX) runs on 700×32c tyres and I have only ever had one puncture! With no trickery. Solution: Radial tyres. Maximum pressure.
Hope this answers your question. Any other probs feel free to look me up.
Happy cycling ;- )

God it’s things like this that make me proud to be a lighting tech! Two of my favorite sayings 1. An actor without a techie is a naked person, standing in the dark trying to emote. A techie without an actor is a person with very marketable skills. 2. A dancer without a techie is a naked person flailing in the dark and running into things. A techie without a dancer is a very sad person putting up with divas and having no good music to drown them out with.
You’re not turning very well. For example 1:50 . You’re not making a line, but going from sharp, to less sharp, and then you’re steering sharper again. You’re doing it good at 2:10 until 2:20 . You could try to improve that. Maybe use the handbrake?

Any good quality smooth tread tire will reduce rolling resistance. Narrower road tires for mountain bikes are also much lighter, so the bike will feel much more lively.

Well, this is one of the wedding traditions that I don't actually see as signifying a transfer of property. Giving away the bride and asking the father for permission to marry does signify property, regardless of what some others may say when they say "It's tradition tehe!" because obviously those traditions come from somewhere.
I think that the name changing is more to do with the patriarchal system of family we have in our society. Basically, the father's lineage is followed, not the mother's and when a woman marries she becomes part of her husband's father's lineage. Her children carry their name and in the past, certain inheritance rights.
Why is it still done? Well, I believe it's becoming less common although it's still the norm. I think mostly because everyone else is doing it. We learn our culture and our society through the actions of others and traditions, although many of us especially those who are tradtionalists have no idea where these traditions come from. Many people are not 'boat rockers' so to speak and will not go against certain traditions or even bother to think about them. They are blind carriers of culture. Having the same name signifies being part of your husband's family and your children are part of his family.
I do think it would be great if men were to start taking their wive's names or if couples kept the same name and children could have some combination of the two or either parents name or if couples when they get married were to create their own new last name from a combination of both their family names to signify family unity.
Fun With A Gym Ball Is this the biggest ball you’ve ever seen ? Can’t really catch it, but it’s great fun to lie on it, although I wish it would keep still, it’s a bit hard to stay on it when it starts rolling ! Abdominal Exercise Machines Many of you are probably familiar with this fun exercise. We’ve been doing it since we were kids in gym class, and it turns out, the bicycle is one of the most effective exercises for working those abdominal muscles
